It's been a while since the last news article. I can't catch up on literally everything that's happened since then, but I'll give it my best go. Without further ado:

Mistborn era 1 TPBs are out now: MistbornThe Well of Ascension, The Hero of Ages. The Alloy of Law came out July 4th, and Shadows of Self came out August 1st. Additionally, we have cover art for The Bands of Mourning (out September 5) and The Lost Metal (out October 10th). Order/preorder them at the links. :)

Crafty Games has a new Mistborn Adventure Game supplement coming out: Nobles: The Golden Mandate. We don't have an official preorder link for it yet, in their Facebook post for GenCon this year, they teased a preorder coming soon.

Grim Oak Press is coming out with a hardcover and paperback edition of Unfettered volume 1. It doesn't appear that there are any new stories in it, and certainly nothing new from Brandon, but it's still a new edition.

Dragonsteel's edition of Frugal Wizard is out, as is Yumi. They're both gorgeous. I did unboxing videos for Frugal Wizard and Yumi with my partner, and loved them.

For Frugal Wizard, Tor and Gollancz also both have their editions out, with the same cover "art" that is mostly typography, and Gollancz's edition was delayed a month or so after the Tor edition.

For Yumi, Tor and Gollancz have revealed their cover art, which is again the same. The books are scheduled to come out October 3, 2023.

We have been wondering what is going on with the cover art for Frugal Wizard and Yumi in the UK. Brandon just made a post on Reddit saying that they are looking at getting a new set of UK covers for his books, and implying that he did not like the UK Tress cover. I am suspicious that his displeasure with the Tress cover may have scrapped the Sam Green covers for the other Secret Projects, leaving Gollancz scrambling and leading to them to simply using the US cover art for now. Note that this is just theorizing, but it does look likely we'll get a big UK redesign set soon.

However, we do have at least one more Sam Green cover coming: Defiant! Gollancz has revealed their cover. We also have the US cover. And there's a green B&N edition of that cover as well, which I honestly like more than the base orange cover.

Dragonsteel 2023 tickets are on sale now! The VIP tickets were listed at $270 each, and they have sold out by now. The regular admission tickets are still on sale for $65 each. In addition to all the swag that comes with the VIP badge, there's a shirt/tshirt/sticker and the Signed Book Bundle. If you want the signed/numbered book *at the con*, you have to pay $75 for the entire bundle, which comes with a lunch box, pin, and adorable plushie! You can get the merch here.

If you want to get the book and you are *not* going to the con, they will go on sale online later this year on Dragonsteel's store, usually around October time, so be on the lookout for that.

If you got a Dragonsteel ticket before July 31st, you will be entered to win one of 5 "Legally Distinct Metallic Tickets" (basically golden tickets) that will get you the physical ticket and one of the first 5 spots in Brandon's signing line at the con.

To get into the signing line at all, you have to win the drawing. I believe 200 people will be selected from all normal + VIP tickets sold, and you get to bring 1 book for personalization + 3 for just signing, as well as a +1 friend, who can bring the same amount. If you win to get in to the line, please keep me in mind, as I would love to be a +1.

White Sand fulfillment is still continuing. Dynamite has recalled all of the initial signed deluxe hardcovers that shipped out, as they shed too much glitter. They have started sending out replacements, and asking those with the initial deluxe editions to ship them to Dragonsteel for some unknown fate. Some people have gotten notifications for fulfillment of the un-signed deluxe edition shipping as well. The new copies are apparently less glittery, but still possibly problematic. The regular hardcover wide bookstore release seems to have been pushed back to November at this point.

Last month, Brandon attended Tampa Bay Comic Con (TBCC), his one non-Dragonsteel convention for the year. Several things happened around the convention, with a few new reveals coming out.

First, Brandon has been numbering a few copies of each of the Secret Projects. Tress copies had already been numbered for students in Brandon's classes, but he has started numbering Frugal Wizard and Yumi as well. He is limiting each of them to 50 numbered copies, and only a handful were given at TBCC. The others will be reserved for future conventions (maybe DSCon) and giveaways/charity auctions. Good luck if you're trying to get one!

Next, we have a new pin, the first official DS pin this year outside of the Year of Sanderson boxes. It's a Shallash pin, and is given out by Brandon himself (not Dragonsteel) to people he sees in cosplay (from his books), usually people who come through the signing line. The cosplay does not need to be good, but you should at least put in some effort. There have been plenty of the pins made for Dragonsteel con this year, and hopefully for the conventions next year.

And finally, we saw a preview of a plushie of Mervin, the wizard from the margin art of the deluxe Frugal Wizard edition, with a coming soon sign. Exciting!

We also have a little bit of news on the Words of Radiance leatherbound kickstarter. The kickstarter has been pushed back to spring 2023, possibly around March, because Brandon does not want to run another kickstarter while fulfillment for Year of Sanderson is ongoing and people don't have all their stuff yet. The curiosity has been confirmed to be Dragonsteel Prime! Pricing/tiers are not announced yet, but are expected to be around the same level as the Way of Kings leatherbound kickstarter.
